Seminar: "Skills tomorrow’s green economy " Brussels & Namur 23rd & 24th of June 2016

The European Commission has registered in the European 2020 strategy the priority "Promoting sustainable growth" and also the question of the new skills for new jobs. The Commission highlights that more than 20 million jobs are already in relation to environment and, according to her, this figure is expected to increase thanks to the EU's efforts to move towards a greener tomorrow. For this approach to be successful, it will be that workers have skills suited to the future green jobs.

CEC, with the collaboration of CET (Centre Européen du Travail) and with the financial contribution of EZA organises a seminar which will take place in Namur on Friday, 24th of June 2016. 

The day before, on June 23, 2016, we will organise in Brussels, in the office of the European Economic and Social Committee, rue Van Maerlant, 2 – 1040 Brussels – Salle VM3, a work meeting with thematic « Competences for Added Value Agro-food Micro Production : Entrepreneurial in rural areas ».

4th transnational meeting of the project "Pédagogie de chantier"

On 18th and 19th of February will be held in Brussels the 4th meeting of the project "Pédagogie de chantier" in which is involved the CEC.

The meeting will take place in the AFT (Atelier de formation par le Travail)"Idée 53" member of our belgian partner ACFI.

CEC HAS JOINT THE EUROPEAN ALLIANCE FOR APPRENTICESHIPS (EAFA).

The European Commission has set up a unique platform which brings together governments with other key stakeholders, like businesses, social partners, chambers, vocational education and training (VET) providers, regions, youth representatives or think tanks. It’s the European Alliance for Apprenticeships (EAfA).

CEC as a European network has been accepted as a member of this platform based on a commitment proposal we made them. You will find this proposal in attachment.

Be part of the Alliance, it is be part of a network of experts from all across Europe working on apprenticeships, real benefit to strengthen our engagement in the areas of apprenticeships and youth employment. Indeed, it’s a platform for sharing experiences and learning from best practices, develops new ideas and initiatives, and access the latest news and tools on apprenticeships.

5 organisations are awarded the 2015 EESC Civil Society Prize on combating poverty of which Barka, CEC member

The EESC is pleased to announce the winners of the 7thedition of the Civil Society Prize, which rewards initiatives aimed at improving the economic and social inclusion of the people living in poverty and countering the increasing risk of facing poverty in Europe.

CEC is pleased that one of his member is part of the winners and congratulate them.

The winners are (in alphabetical order):

  • A.N.D.E.S (France) for its initiative Uniterres which provides fresh, quality local produce to social and solidarity-based food shops by local producers of fruits, vegetables, herbs and eggs.
  • Armut und Gesundheit in Deutschland (Germany), which provides comprehensive medical care for people from deprived backgrounds;
  • Barka Foundation for Mutual Help (Poland) for its Social Integration Centres which address issues of education and vocational training;
  • Third Age (Ireland) for its initiative Fáilte Isteach (Welcome In) which welcomes migrants and refugees to Ireland through giving English conversation classes;
  • Y-Foundation (Finland) which promotes health and social welfare through provision of affordable, good quality rental housing.

Project "Pédagogie de Chantier" Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships - Open Day

In the framework of the "Pédagogie de Chantier" (Strategic Partnerships) project in which CEC is involved, the AFT “Idée 53”, a FIAS-ACFI member, held on November 24 2015, an “Open Day” in order to present the project and experimentation implementation to all stakeholders, including the young concerned persons.

This morning was a success and several youth registered in the experiment at the end of the event.
