Strood Community Project replaces HITC

HITC, our English partner is replaced since 1StOctober 2016 by STROOD COMMUNITY PROJECT (SCP), which you will find a presentation below. Paul Robinson is the CEO.

Strood Community Project is a charity and a limited company, standard structure for an NGO in United Kingdom. Their social solidarity enterprise (Strood Community Enterprise) operates two social shops.

The association counts 7 employees led by Paul Robinson and 40 volunteers. The enterprise works with 9 employees and 30 volunteers.

The motto of the association is "'Help our Neighbours to transform their Live'" and to do this offers a series of services such as assistance to employment, work with young people and elderly, housing, debt mediation, computer skills, supply of emergency food, defending victims interests facing justice...

The two social stores they opened are also an opportunity for vulnerable people to acquire employment skills. SCP also organizes free festive days for families not having the opportunity to go on holiday.

SCP differs from other organizations because it deals with people in a systemic way by taking all the needs of the person in charge. Each issue impacting on the other, there is no point to solve one without address them all.

SCP is a member of ADVICE UK, advice service and of CMA, association for independent debt advice providers. SCP was involved in many European projects. Paul Robinson meanwhile is active within CEC since 2000.
